My thoughts: In a world where quzies are about Surviving the zombie apocalypse it is unsurprising that a novel, or several, about one would be written. It is though refreshing to read some South African fiction that is not based on historical misinformation and atrosities.
Perhaps a book more for teens than adults, I could still identify with Lele and the various other teens she encounters and interacts with. Her family troubles are real and reflect much of what is going on today with the demise of the typical nuclear family. The familiar locations bring the story home and helps with the connection without completely losing the suspension of disbelief that I need in an escapism read.
The story is interesting, energetic and keeps you wanting to read more - I read it in one 3 hour sitting as an example. I would also read more in the series when they come out.
